Carbon Steel

Carbon steel comes in various grades, each tailored for specific applications and with unique properties. Here are some common grades along with their regular sizes:

1. Low Carbon Steel (Mild Steel):

   - Grades: ASTM A36, AISI 1018, SAE 1020

   - Regular Sizes:

     - Plates: Thicknesses typically range from 3/16" to 6", with standard widths of 48" or 60" and standard lengths of 96", 120", or 144".

     - Bars: Rounds, squares, and flats with diameters or thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 12".

2. Medium Carbon Steel:

   - Grades: AISI 1045, SAE 1060, EN8 (080M40)

   - Regular Sizes:

     - Plates: Thicknesses typically range from 3/16" to 14", with standard widths of 48" or 60" and standard lengths of 96", 120", or 144".

     - Bars: Rounds, squares, and flats with diameters or thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 12".

3. High Carbon Steel:

   - Grades: AISI 1095, SAE 1075, 5160

   - Regular Sizes:

     - Plates: Thicknesses typically range from 3/16" to 2", with standard widths of 48" or 60" and standard lengths of 96" or 120".

     - Bars: Rounds, squares, and flats with diameters or thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 6".

These regular sizes are common in the industry, but custom sizes can also be manufactured based on specific project requirements. Additionally, carbon steel is available in various forms such as sheets, coils, pipes, and structural shapes, with sizes tailored to meet diverse application needs.
